The type of personal information I collect

I currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details, such as email address).
  • Third-party tools are in operation on this website, specifically Google Analytics and Monsterinsights, which may use cookies. These tools are in use to analyse how visitors are using the website. Cookies are small text files that can be used by websites to make a user’s experience more efficient. The law states that we can store cookies on your device if they are strictly necessary for the operation of this site. For all other types of cookies we need your permission. This site uses different types of cookies. A cookie banner has been installed to allow you to consent or decline cookies.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have sent me an email enquiring about/requesting my services.
  • We have been in correspondence regarding my services.

I use the information that you have given me in order to communicate with you via email, provide a transcription service to you, produce invoices and process/store such information on my computer.  If you provide a review on my website, you consent to having your review and your name being published on my website. 

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful basis I rely on for processing this information is:

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

I keep personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details, such as email address) for five years. I will then contact you to inform you that I am about to delete your personal data.  Your information will be disposed by deleting it from my computer and from my email inbox.

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
